If it matters that much that your lug nuts are pretty on your 100% back country rig, then a set of good quality chrome covered ones will stand up to the lug wrench a lot better than any paint (chrome really does have functional purpose sometimes).

Best Answer: Paint doesn't adhere to chrome very well. In fact you can probably scratch it off with your fingernail. You might try baking it on, but I doubt it will be much better. There is a "black chrome" process but I don't have any info in it. Check with any local car customizers about this.
